Just imagine laying there in the hot sun sporting your great looking abs. There will be some essential items most people miss out on when the time draws closer to stop dreaming about laying on the beach in your bathing suit. I am sure you are wondering how you are going to turn those flabby fat laden abs into ripped 6 pack abs. The first thing in the past I would have done is start exercising. More specifically I would have done crunches and sit-ups. My motivation being a flat stomach with ripped abs I could show off all summer long. There are two huge mistakes a majority of people are making when developing their great looking abs. Both mistakes will sabotage all the hard labor intensive work you have done.
What is the first mistake? Not including cardio into your daily routine of exercise. There is a simple premise behind implementing cardio with your weight training. The idea of having abs is to be able to see them, and if you have a layer of fat over the abs you will not be able to see them… no matter how many crunches or sit-ups you do. This tiny fat layer tends to gather around the waistline and belly of most adults, it is the natural place we tend to store our fat.
To alleviate this belly fat one should implement some type of cardio exercise everyday. This exercise will help burn the extra fat off. Some exercises would include riding a bike for 45 min to an hour, and go jogging, or even swimming. Any cardio exercise will do even fun ones like a mountain biking tour or hiking the trails of your local forest preserve.
The next idea behind gaining great looking abs is to eat well. Eating healthy will definitely reduce the fat flabby midsection because we will only put fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain rice, fresh bread, and fish and chicken into our body. So don’t make this second mistake of not eating healthy foods. In order to optimize the energy and nutrients we receive from healthy food we need to minimize the fat content, and maximize the benefits of the protein found in the food we eat. These lean proteins and whole grains will in turn help burn more fat. As a simple matter of supply and demand your body will lose more weight the more calories it burns beyond the amount of food calories consumed. As we all know that unused energy turns to fat. When you burn calories beyond what you eat your body will tap into its reserves and start burning the fat stored in your belly.
So let’s recap what the 3 tips were. First tip is daily weight training exercise. The second tip is daily cardio exercise. Lastly, by eating a healthy balanced diet will further reinforce your fat burning efforts. Before you know it you’ll be able to show those great looking abs and feel great as a result of doing cardio workouts and eating healthy. Not only will you burn fat, but you will also improve circulation and strengthen your heart.
